We read a funny rhyming story about an old lady who swallowed a chick! Everyone is getting so good at picking out all of the rhyming words they hear!
Then we practiced retelling the story together on the carpet. During centers, we made our own old lady and then practiced retelling the story to a friend. See if your child can retell the story to you at home too! If you do some of the activities on the sheet that was sent home and return it with a signature, I will give your child a sticker!
We also played an egg game with Miss McCabe! When it was our turn, we took out an Easter egg and cracked it open. Inside each egg was a sheet of paper with either a letter or a number. We had to identify the letter or number and stamp it on our sheet, trying to build a path to help the bunny get to the basket. Whenever we got a letter, we had to identify a picture on our sheet of paper that started with that letter's sound. It was a lot of fun!
After snack, we played.
Then we read a silly story! Some of us thought that the animal was a duck and others thought it was a rabbit! We laughed so hard while reading this story!
Next we made our own duck and rabbit puppets. Everyone was excited to try to trick their families at home! We read the story again using our puppets.
We ended our day with enjoying the fresh air outside.
Have a great evening!
