F is for...

We have been enjoying learning all about our new letter Ff!  Today we spent some time drawing pictures of items that begin with the letter Ff in our journals.  We came up with a variety of different words that begin with Ff!

Then we read a neat story called Alphabet Rescue.  We were excited to find the letter Ff in our story!  This story was also put into the listening center and several of us enjoyed listening to it again during centers!

We reviewed what we learned from the firefighters yesterday.  Then we practiced what to do if our clothes catch on fire.  When a felt flame was put on our shirts, we had to stop, drop, and roll until the flame came off!  We did a great job with it!
Ms. Behnke taught us how to play a fire game that worked on color recognition, counting, and identifying the letters F, f, P, and p.
Miss McCabe helped us make firefighter hats to wear!  We even took an adorable class picture of us in our firefighter hats in front of the play fire station to put in our portfolios!
We were also busy exploring some of the independent centers!

Doing the number, shape, and letter songs on the SMART Board is still popular!
During playtime, playing in the fire station and the sensory table was in high demand!
We also started to work on coloring a thank you card for the firefighters.
Everybody also enjoyed saying hello and good-bye to feather f, our new feely phonic friend!  We enjoy touching it gently as we make the /f/ sound!
It was great to see everybody's huge smiles for picture day today!  Have a good "home day" tomorrow and I'll see you for another adventurous day in 4K on Thursday!
