We read two stories today! The first one was called "Autumn" and we got to see all of the colors that leaves turn in Autumn. We also read "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves". When the story was over we retold the story and got to feed the old lady all of the items she ate in the story. When she sneezed, she made a scarecrow! She is a silly lady!
We were all very busy during centers! When we worked at Ms. Behnke's table we got to do a magic trick with tissue paper. We cut out a leaf and then sprayed it with water and put special tissue paper on it, and when we took the tissue paper off the color stayed on the leaf! We will tell stories about our leaf tomorrow.
During play time we all enjoyed playing in the sensory table and the surprise center. There are leaves in the sensory table, and hidden in the leaves are spiders and acorns. We sure love scaring the teachers with the spiders! There are gourds in the surprise center and we loved sorting them on the ABC carpet.
We introduced the letter "L" today. We got a lot of practice making our /L/ sound today. We never knew we used so many "L" words every day! We got to meet Ladder L and say hi to him by making the /L/ sound while we traced it with our finger. After meeting Ladder L we went out in the hall and got to take an L Leaf off of the L tree while standing on a Ladder. When all of the Leaves were gone we made a Line with our L Leaves and made a friend Line as well. We found out that our friends make a Longer Line than the Leaves. So many L words!!!
