Santa

Happy Monday!  We are so excited that it is almost our classroom party day!  Everyone has been so excited to open up the presents under the tree!  Our elf was busy playing with the legos when we got to school today.

We started off our day by coloring the Little Jack Horner nursery rhyme in our journals.  We have been working hard on using many colors and taking our time to color in the lines!

We played.  The blocks were in high demand.  We also had a classroom filled with "kitties" again!

During circle time we read a silly story about Santa.  In the story, he had a hard time keeping quiet.  All of the animals were afraid that he would wake up the children!  We also played a What's Missing? Santa game to work on vocabulary.  This is becoming one of our favorite games at school!

We also worked on sorting objects by their beginning sounds.  Each of us got a chance to grab a toy from a sack.  Then we had to decide what letter present the toy belonged on.  This was a lot of fun so we will probably do it some more tomorrow!

Ms. Palmer played a Christmas bingo game with us that helped us practice our beginning sounds.

We also spent some time at independent centers.

In the afternoon, we all enjoyed spending some time looking at books.  It was kind of odd but one by one they all slowly wandered over and started making a line of children reading books!

It was also a beautiful day to play outside.

Have a wonderful evening!
