Whew! What a busy day we had today! For arrival, we reviewed the letter Hh and glued houses on our Hh alphabet book page.
During circle time, we spent some time talking about how to be a good friend. Then we read the story Dinofours: I'm Not Your Friend! together. In the story, one dinosaur got mad at another because she wanted to play with a different friend. She thought that the dinosaur was not her friend anymore just because she wanted to play with someone else. We talked about how friends don't always have to do the same things. You can still be friends even if you don't always do everything together. We need to share our friends with other people too! Then we played a "What's Missing? Friends" game together to work on vocabulary and visual memory skills.
During centers, we made a Dinofours counting book together! It was a lot of fun to use the dinosaur stamps to put the correct number of dinosaurs on each page! We also enjoyed discussing the names of different dinosaurs as we stamped.
We also visited independent centers and had plenty of playtime! Washing the dishes in the soapy water was extremely popular in the afternoon session.
We also shared our turkeys in disguise. There were many creative ideas! We had a pirate, snowman, Christmas tree, princess, butterfly, cow, and Batman to name just a few.
We also did some more mystery bags and had some tricky items to guess, such as hangers, hats, horses, and hammers!
Remember that there is no 4K on Thursday or Friday, but you are still welcome to attend Workday Wednesday tomorrow morning from 9-10 a.m. Younger children are also welcome to come. Enjoy the long weekend and I look forward to seeing everybody back at school on Monday! :)
