We practiced sequencing our names while making name necklaces to wear! We were excited to realize that name and necklace start with the letter Nn!
Then we read a special nighttime story called The Napping House. We were excited to find the letter Nn on the cover of the book! This was a fun story to read! Click below to listen to the story.
Of course, we had to learn "Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed" too! First we did it together using our fingers to act it out. Then we read the story and compared the story to the song! We were also excited to take home a monkey activity to do at home with our families! You can listen to it by clicking below!
We also played a mystery name game on the SMART Board. Miss McCabe showed us one letter at a time and we had to figure out whose name it was!
We also enjoyed visiting independent centers!
For snack, we got to eat the letter cookies that we had made on Tuesday. They tasted delicious!
Then it was time to play! Many of us chose to go back and visit independent centers. Making bingo blotter letters in the art center was the most popular!
After playtime, we learned the song "Ten in the Bed." You can listen to it by clicking below.
Then came our favorite part of the day! We went into the gym and used the parachute as a big blanket. Then we acted out the song "Ten in the Bed" and used our good counting skills to count how many children were left in the bed each time a child rolled out! It was soooooo much fun! :)
We had a little bit of extra time in the afternoon to share some more of our turkeys in disguise, but didn't get to all of them! We will try to share them tomorrow!
Tomorrow will be a "backwards day" because Ms. Palmer will be coming into our room for centers. We are excited to have playtime first! Tomorrow will also be Ms. Behnke's last day in our classroom. We are sad that she has to leave us.
