Teeth

Happy Friday!  We started out our day by coloring our Queen of Hearts nursery rhyme for our journals.

We had fun playing!  The morning session mainly played with the blocks while the afternoon session enjoyed playing Crocodile Dentist and pretending to play school.  They lined up their chairs to listen to the "teacher" read stories.

During circle time, we continued to talk about the dentist and taking good care of our teeth.  We learned why a dentist may wear a mask on his or her face and that we don't need to be scared of the dentist.  The dentist only wants to help us keep our teeth healthy!

We reached into the mystery bag to pull out an item.  Then we needed to decide what letter it started with: Tt or Vv.  We are getting very good at hearing the beginning sounds!

Then we went to the table and tried sorting pictures by their beginning sounds independently.

We also learned that children have 10 teeth on the top and 10 teeth on the bottom.  Adults have 16 teeth on top and 16 teeth on the bottom.  We played a game where we tried to fill a mouth with teeth (mini marshmallows).  Everyone took turns rolling the die and counting the correct number of "teeth" onto their mouths.

Ms. Palmer played a tooth fairy counting game with some of us.  We took turns pretending to be the tooth fairy while our friends slept.  The tooth fairy would fill small pillowcases with pennies.  Then when the friends woke up, they had to count how many pennies were in their pillowcases.  It was a lot of fun!

We also did the counting jar in both sessions.  Counting is so much fun!

Enjoy the weekend! :)
