Happy Monday! We started off our day with arrival activities. One table did a cutting and name sample for their portfolios, another table drew a self-portrait for their portfolios, and the third table made a bear Bb page for their alphabet books. These activities will be rotated throughout the week.
Then we played! We were excited to discover that there is a bear cave in our classroom!
During circle time, we read the story Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?. First we read the story together. Then we listened to the song. We realized that the song was a little bit different from the book - the song said a mother instead of teacher! Good listening 4K friends! You can click below to listen to the author of the story read it!
Ms. Palmer came in for centers and helped us make a class book based on the story! We had to close our eyes to choose an animal. Then we had to choose a color to make our animal for our class book.
Some children also played a brown bear color memory game or a brown bear roll and color number game with Miss McCabe.
We also spent some time at independent centers.
In the morning, we heard all about Brownie's adventures at our friend's house. It sounds like he had a great time!
We met our new feely phonic friend, blue button b, and read some stories about the letter Bb.
Please remember to send a teddy bear to school tomorrow for our teddy bear day. If your child does not have a teddy bear, I will have some extra ones available at school, but only a limited amount! We will do some special activities with the teddy bears and have a teddy bear picnic!
Also, please send in book orders tomorrow. Our classroom will get some extra free books for the month of January if we can get an order of $20 or more! If you place an online order, our classroom also receives an additional $3 worth of books for each online order placed!
Have a great evening! :)
