Hibernation

We were so excited about the snow today!  The snow helped to make today the perfect day to talk about hibernation!  We read the story Bear Snores On.  You can listen to the story by clicking below!

Then we talked about other animals that also hibernate.  Many of us remembered that frogs hibernate in winter from when we read Froggy Gets Dressed earlier this month.  Good job remembering 4K students!  We learned a song about other animals that also hibernate in winter.  See if your child can remember other animals that hibernate!

In the afternoon, we also a little extra time to read another story that introduces more animals that hibernate in winter.

Then we used our fine motor skills to make our own hibernating bears sleeping in their caves.  While working on our projects, we reviewed concepts like big, medium, and small.

We also played!  In the morning, we were celebrating a special birthday so we got out the birthday toys.

We also read Don't Wake Up the Bear! and got excited every time we found the letter Bb in the story!

Then we got ready to go outside and play in the snow!

Please remember to send snow pants, boots, hats, and mittens or gloves to school tomorrow so that everybody can play in the snow!

Also, please remember to send in the hat family projects.  Quite a few have come in already!  Maybe somebody will make a hat for the goose because he doesn't have any hats yet!

Have a great evening! :)
