Teddy Bear Day!

What an exciting and fun day we had today!  Upon arrival, we worked on making bear headbands to use as our disguises for the upcoming teddy bear picnic.  Our teddy bears sat at the table and watched us work on our disguises.

As we finished making our bear headbands, we went to the carpet and read bear stories to our teddy bears!

During circle time, everybody got a chance to introduce their bear and tell something special about it.  We read the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  Later in the day, we read another story that tied into the story of Goldilocks.

Then we sorted our teddy bears by their size: big, medium, or small.  Most of our teddy bears were medium sized.

Next we went to the table and made some large bears.  Miss McCabe walked around and helped us record information about our bears while we worked.

We even used unifix cubes to measure our bears.  That was exciting!

Don't our bears look great hanging up in the hallway?!

Then it was time to prepare for our teddy bear picnic.  First, we read the story and listened to the song.  We learned some new vocabulary, such as what a disguise is.

After washing our hands, we laid out a tablecloth on the floor and gathered around it in our teddy bear headband disguises.  We ate teddy grahams on our picnic!  They were delicious!

We tried different flavors of teddy grahams - cinnamon, honey, and chocolate.  Then we graphed which flavor of teddy graham was our favorite.  Chocolate teddy grahams were the clear winners in both sessions!

Then we played some.  It was fun to also play with our teddy bears!  Many of us crawled into the bear cave with our teddy bears!

Mrs. Brouwer helped paint feet in the morning session!

In the afternoon, we got to hear about the adventures Brownie had last weekend!

We also had to stop and take a class picture of us with our teddy bears to put in our portfolios so we can always remember the fun we had in 4K!

Have a great evening!  We will have more fun bear adventures on Thursday and Friday!
