We started off our day by gluing the correct number of shamrocks by each number.
During circle time, we talked about why we were wearing green. Everyone was excited when they realized that green starts with the letter Gg! We learned some new vocabulary while playing a "What's Missing? Leprechaun" game.
Then we read a story about Little Blue and Little Yellow. Guess what happened when they hugged - they turned green! We learned that blue and yellow make green.
During centers, we made blue and yellow paint "hug" so that we could make green shamrocks. They turned out to be all different shades of green depending on how much blue and yellow paint was used!
We also used green and gold glitter paint to make our Gg alphabet book page.
In the morning, a friend brought in special green cookies for snack while we made green pudding together in the afternoon. Our milk also magically turned green! Everyone blamed the leprechaun!
Then it was on to playtime! We were so busy looking for the missing golden g, building traps, and looking for more leprechauns. In the afternoon, we several children made pictures for the leprechaun while in the morning, several children built him a home and gave him toys and books for his new home. Some children in the morning were busy hiding all our gold from the sensory table so that the leprechaun would not take that too!
Then we shared our green mystery bags. There were all sorts of neat green items, such as trucks, boats, a frog, markers, a Christmas tree, and even mouthwash!
It was also a beautiful day to play outside! We enjoyed not having to put on snow pants to go outside in the morning!
Have a great weekend! Enjoy the nicer weather! :)
