We wrote our daily message together.
Then we read a story about a leprechaun who lost his rainbow. It was a big problem because he had hidden his pot at the end of the rainbow!
During centers, we drew leprechaun faces on some cups. Then we filled the cups with dirt and grass seeds. We are excited to grow "green hair" for the leprechauns. Everyone wants the leprechaun hair to grow very tall so we can give our leprechauns "hair cuts" outside!
We also made suncatcher rainbows to hang up in our windows. We had to use our big muscles to tear the tissue paper into tiny pieces!
Miss McCabe helped us make rainbow names. Many of us worked on writing our last names on our rainbows! After writing our names in rainbow colors, we used crayons to color in the rainbows. Then we cut them out and glued them on a blue sky and put on cottonball clouds. Pictures of this are limited because I did not want to put a picture with a child's entire first and last name on the blog.
After snack, we played. In the afternoon, there was a birthday celebration so we even got out the birthday toys.
Then we read a story that taught us how rainbows are made. We learned that two things are needed for a rainbow - rain (or a prism) and sun. We learned how the rain (or prism) bends the sunlight to create a rainbow!
Next we danced with our pot of gold rainbow streamers that we made yesterday! We danced to a rainbow song and then put on some traditional Irish music to dance to.
To end our day, we enjoyed the beautiful weather outside! Everyone was excited that they did not need to wear snow pants outside! I still am encouraging boots because of all the mud!
Remember that there is no 4K on Thursday. I will see everyone on Friday for our special green day celebrations! Remember to wear green! Enjoy the extra "home" day! :)
