Happy Monday! We started off our day by writing in our journals.
Then we played! Everyone was especially excited to play in the sensory table. It had water, foam lily pads, toy frogs, and even some tadpoles!
During circle time, we talked about reasons why a frog may jump. The consensus was that jumping helps a frog get away from animals that may want to eat or hurt it! We read a story called Jump, Frog, Jump!.
Then we pretended to jump like frogs too! We graphed how far we could jump on the SMART Board. Miss McCabe held up a sentence strip that said: Jump, (name), Jump! Then we read it and that person got to see how far they could jump - one, two, or three lily pads.
During centers, we made our own frogs on lily pads to display in the hallway.
Ms. Palmer played a frog game with us too! It was a lot of fun! Each of us played a different version that worked on a skill we needed to work on, such as shapes, numbers, letters, and letter sounds.
Some of us also played a fly counting game. We had to count the correct number of flies to feed to Freddy frog.
We also shared some mystery bags and reviewed our letters. In the morning, we heard about Brownie's adventures while in the afternoon we did the counting jar.
It was also a beautiful day to play outside! We are enjoying having a longer outside playtime now that we don't have to put on all that winter gear! Today we got to play on the climber on the other side of the playground! It was a nice change.
In the afternoon, it began to rain lightly while we were playing outside. We then took a short walk on the walking trail to look for worms and bugs, but didn't find many. We had to cut our outside time a little short so the children got to choose what to do inside. They chose to revisit Pete the Cat again! We just love Pete the Cat! :)
Have a great evening! :)
